and responses from our team

We greatly appreciate the fact that many of our users have agreed to leave us reviews. Getting honest feedback from Engramo users is extremely important for us — it helps us to understand what your needs and expectations are and to develop our product to meet them and to be even more useful for you in the future.

To show you that we care about your feedback, we have decided to write this article that lists some of the most interesting notes and observations we have received so far and our responses. We hope it will help to shape your opinion of Engramo and allow you to get to know us better. Moreover, we would like to reveal our plans and ideas for future changes that are inspired by you, our users.

Let’s start with some short reviews we received on FB.

Super useful and engaging. The app tracks your progress so everything is personalized. Perfect for intermediate and advanced learners!

  • Jesus, documentarian, Spain

As Jesus highlighted, Engramo designs a unique learning path for every single user. This function lies in the core of our app — it took a very long time to develop it but we think this is the reason Engramo is better than any other grammar app available on the market.

Another important point is that Engramo only focuses on more advanced grammar. While Duolingo teaches the basics, it is hard to find a reliable resource when revising grammar for IELTS or Cambridge tests, which is precisely what we can help you with.

As an English teacher, I can confirm that Engramo is both a useful tool for intermediate and advanced learners and an accurate resource for grammar rules. It’s a great app!

  • Patrick, language teacher, Australia

We are proud that native-speaking teachers praise Engramo and acknowledge its quality. It took us several years to launch the app since many linguists were working on it to make sure it was spotless. Moreover, independent experts from Charles University in Prague tested Engramo and guaranteed its quality, too.

Smooth user interface and tasks challenging enough. I use English every day but by using this I could defs take my skills to the next level!

  • Samuli, university student, Finland

We put a lot of care into the graphic design of Engramo as well, so we are flattered our users praise us for that! We think that the app dashboard should be clean and simple and we block all advertisements so that nothing distracts our users from learning.

It looks pretty cool and it was kinda fun working with it. I feel more clever already :)

  • Jakub, high school student, the Czech Republic

There are many engaging language apps that allow you to collect points, challenge friends and feed a virtual dog. Since Engramo wants users to stay focussed on what is important, we decided not to burden our clients with these features. We are therefore very happy to hear from teenagers who appreciate our sincere approach and consider the app fun and engaging because of the content alone.

It is the best way to improve your English as quickly as you can and have fun.

  • Natálie, high school student, the Czech Republic

Swiftness is another important feature of our app. The algorithm doses grammar rules in the right order and amount, which means that no one has to bother learning something they already know. Given that all students (and adults) are busy and looking for efficient solutions, we hope we got it right.

Apart from many short reviews, we are also receiving emails with more detailed feedback. The most inspiring one comes from Minoo, an English teacher and Youtuber from Berlin:

I must say that it’s very professionally done, and it has really excellent content. Congratulations! I’ll also tell you what I would have liked to be different:

  1. I know that the whole programme is based on spaced repetition, and that you tell the student what topics they’ll be revising in the next section, but I would have liked to somewhere see a list of all the topics that the course covers, just to see the big picture.

We are not surprised by this observation. Though it is very convenient to rely on technology and have it decide what you should learn, a general overview should also be available. That is another reason why we decided to include the Grammar Book in the app. Check it to display a list of 13 grammar topics (and many more subtopics) Engramo covers to get the bigger picture.

Since many people have wondered if they could influence the choice of grammar topic they should learn, we are also designing a new function that would allow our users to tell the algorithm which topics they are most interested in.

2. I like your idea of showing the crossed-out mistakes in grey, but I would have preferred to see the correct version in a different colour than red. It took me a while to adjust to the fact that red meant ‘correct’.

Yeah, we know this is hard for people from Western cultures. We picked red since it naturally catches attention but we do not want our users to get confused, so we will let them choose their favourite colour in the near future.

3. It’s a nice touch to break the grammar sections with interesting idioms and information. I would have liked to be able to listen to the content in those sections too.

It is great to hear our clients enjoy the language jokes and curiosities we smuggle into the course to let them have more fun and relax whenever they complete a new mission. Since many of these jokes depend on correct pronunciation, we agree it is very important to voice these parts as well and we are about to do it very soon. We know our clients download Engramo to improve their grammar but it is not the only focus of our app. We carefully choose sample sentences from the corpora to widen your vocabulary, our exercises are designed to help you improve your spelling and we agree the curiosities’ section should be also useful for listening practice.

We hope this article helped you to understand both the application and its functions and our approach to teaching English grammar. We are hugely grateful for the feedback you have provided so far and cannot wait to hear from you again!
